About

Over a number of decades, I have been fortunate to enjoy a long and diverse career in the International Energy sector. Working for Canadian, Swedish, US and Belgian companies and having Customers on 5 continents and in 19 countries was truly rewarding. Building relationships with our Customers and promoting our brand was always key to our success and my most important goal throughout my career.

My duties over the years were quite diverse and can be summarized into three time frames.

(The 80s)

Engineering
Project Management
Site Management

With my engineering degree in hand from the University of Waterloo (specialized in Heat Transfer and Thermodynamics) I worked with several companies that designed and manufactured boilers, heat exchangers and pressure vessels. I had positions in various engineering groups and proposal engineering caught my interest. During this period I also took on Project Management and Site Management responsibilities for several turnkey projects.

(The 90s)

Functional Management - Engineering
Sales and Marketing

I joined an SME in Ontario as Engineering Manager. The company was a start-up who had developed unique boiler technology for the power generation and cogeneration sectors. I was responsible for expanding the engineering team to support the growth of the company.

A number of years were spent leading the Sales and Marketing team as we expanded the business outside of North America, booking key orders in Europe, Australia and Asia. Many lessons learned about positioning the product in the marketplace and gaining Customer acceptance in different markets.

(The 2000s)
